HANAMATSURI OTOKI LUNCHEON – SUNDAY, APRIL 12

This year, we were treated to another delicious barbecue spareribs lunch (and vegetarian option) prepared by Toban Group #1. Thank you to Toban leader, Jacqui Yamaoka & Chef Lou Panzella, and all the cooks and helpers who made it such a success! We appreciate their hard work and efforts! Great job, everyone!

Upcoming ABWA Events

Gotan-E – May 17

For Gotan E, Shinran Shonin’s birthday. Toban Group #2 will be serving light refreshments after the service. Toban leaders, Lenni Terao-Doerr, Joyce Maniwa and Kimberly Kato Chambliss will be in contact with the Group 2 members.

Bay District Buddhist Women’s League Conference (BDBWL) – Saturday, May 16

Seven from Alameda, including Rev. Fujimoto, will be attending the one-day conference in Oakland. The conference theme is, “May All Beings Be Happy and Well: Spiritual, Mental and Physical Health”. The guest speaker will be Bishop Marvin Harada. The two workshops will be “Healthy Brain & Healthy Heart” presented by Karen Owoc, and chair yoga led by Norma Hoshide. We look forward to a very beneficial and enjoyable conference!

Annual Visitations – Tuesday, May 5

We will be visiting and delivering bento to our Keiro members and Temple members who are homebound or not well on Tuesday, May 5. This year, the bento will be from Super Mira in San Francisco, thanks to Jane Naito who has offered to order and pick them up for us!

Bazaar: Sat. & Sun., June 27 and 28

We will be having a 2-day Temple bazaar again this year. We will be discussing what we will be helping to prepare at the upcoming meetings. Donations of baked goods for the dessert booth as well as homemade items for the crafts booth are always welcomed and much appreciated!

Federation Buddhist Women’s Association (FBWA) Conference, Fri. – Sun, Oct. 2-4

Registration information will be emailed to both ABWA and Temple members for the conference which will be held in San Diego.
